Meet annie

Annie believes in bringing people together to create a better tomorrow.

As a mom, entrepreneur, lifelong learner, former university professor, award-winning high school teacher, youth leadership advocate, champion for safer communities, Girl Scout leader, and proud Skokie resident—Annie has consistently demonstrated her commitment to her values.

Serving as a member of the Skokie School Board for the past four years, Annie has fostered unity during some of the greatest challenges of our time. She is particularly proud of her efforts to build bridges in an era of division, create a safe and welcoming environment for all students, transform local leadership with the hiring of a new superintendent, while strengthening the school board's role in ensuring district accountability keeping the district accountable to the strategic plan and increasing community collaboration.

Annie's values were profoundly shaped by her family’s resilience and her own childhood experiences. Her immigrant grandfather’s dedication to building a new life and her single mother’s sacrifices to provide for her three children instilled in Annie a deep-rooted work ethic. She pours her heart into everything she does, always striving to exceed expectations. The challenges of her childhood taught Annie the kind of person she did not want to become and sparked her commitment to making a difference. She has dedicated her life to ensuring every child feels valued, heard, and supported in a safe space where they can thrive.

Annie's family has called Skokie home for the past five years and found their forever home and community. Currently, two of her children attend Devonshire Elementary, and her youngest will join in two years. You can often find Annie and her family at the pool—her favorite place in Skokie—which she eagerly anticipates every year as opening day draws near.

As an active member of the Skokie School Board and proud District 68 parent, she will continue to support Skokie families and bring people together in the boardroom, in the classroom, and in the community.
