    Facilitating an environment of transparency and open dialogue where the school board is both accessible and accountable to the community moving forward. Also, being a responsible steward of the community’s property taxes and district finances.

First-Term Accomplishments

  • Recruited and hired a distinguished, highly capable superintendent, setting a strong leadership foundation for the district.

  • Established innovative governance practices that ensure consistent and transparent reporting on the Superintendent’s progress, enhancing accountability and effectiveness.

  • Ended inequitable board practices, fostering fairness and integrity in district governance.

  • Served on the Social Studies Committee, advocating for 21st-century, project-based learning approaches—culminating in the board’s approval of an innovative new curriculum.

  • Led efforts to develop and implement policies addressing hate speech within schools, ensuring data-informed decision-making and a safer, more inclusive environment for all students.

  • Supported and advanced key priorities in the district’s 5-year strategic plan, driving progress and long-term growth.

  • Served and represented District 68 as the Illinois School Board Association delegate (2023, 2024)

  • Championed sustainability initiatives, including solar panels and geothermal heating/cooling systems for all schools, reducing utility costs and earning state recognition for environmental leadership.

  • Approved a transformative multi-million-dollar project to build a new Early Childhood Center, significantly increasing educational access for district families.

  • Advocated for and secured an intergovernmental agreement with Niles Township, preventing homelessness for 93 individuals and keeping children in school—committed to renewing this impactful initiative in the next term.
